Farmington Hills, MI, September 3, 2025 – Astemo Americas, Inc. (hereafter “Astemo Americas”), a subsidiary of Astemo, Ltd. (hereafter “Astemo”), today announced that the company will invest $95 million to develop a new regional headquarters complex in Wixom, Michigan. This initiative is in response to the increasingly complicated software requirements that arise with automotive industry advances in autonomous driving and electrification. Astemo will strengthen its competitiveness in SDV* technologies in the United States as well as in Japan.

* SDV: Software Defined Vehicle

The initiative is expected to create 200 new jobs in the Detroit area, including more than 150 engineering positions focused on developing SDV technologies.

Astemo Americas’ new 26-acre campus located in Wixom along the primary highway, I-96, will have a testing facility including test tracks and 185,000 square-feet of office and lab space for engineering, software development, marketing, customer-service and administration personnel.

“Our new Wixom facilities will provide us with space needed to further develop and showcase our cutting-edge technology, attract additional engineering talent and strengthen our collaboration with customers,” said Astemo Americas’ CEO and President Tim Clark.  He added that construction on the new Wixom complex will begin in Spring 2026 with completion expected in the fall of 2027.

“Astemo will build a facility in Wixom to accommodate the physical space needed to showcase the company’s cutting-edge capabilities to attract talent, as well as to increase collaboration with business units and customers. Astemo chose Michigan for its expansion over competing sites in Ohio,” said Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

“The City of Wixom is thrilled that Astemo Americas is considering the City of Wixom for this new investment, including hundreds of new, well-paying jobs,” said City Manager, Steven Brown. ”Wixom has a long history as the home for world-leading automotive suppliers, and we look forward to working with Astemo to build their state of the art facility and welcoming them to our business community,” Brown added.

Governor Whitmer and Astemo Americas’ Clark said that additional plans and details about the new headquarters complex will be announced later in September.
