May 30, 2025

Astemo is a major Tier One auto supplier with 80,000 employees globally

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Hitachi Astemo Americas has changed its name to Astemo Americas. The Tier One supplier’s corporate name became Astemo, Ltd. earlier this year to reflect a change in the global company’s capital structure after Hitachi and Honda Motor Co. became equal shareholders.

The name change in the Americas to Astemo officially took place on May 23.

An Astemo spokesperson noted that the mobility industry is undergoing unprecedented change, pointing out that the name Astemo (Advanced Sustainable Technologies for Mobility) expresses the company’s unwavering commitment to meeting society’s needs with cuttingedge technology.

Astemo Americas plans to further build on the leadership position established under the Hitachi name and further strengthen recognition of the Astemo brand for its industry-leading electrification, driver-assistance, autonomous-driving and advanced-chassis technology.
